St Andrew Christmas Novena is an Advent tradition that is more than 100 years old. Though the origins of this prayer are unknown, it is believed to have come from Ireland, according to the Catholic Company. As stated on the prayer card itself, "It is piously believed that whoever recites the prayer fifteen (15) times a day from the feast of St Andrew (Nov 30) until Christmas will obtain what is asked."
