Blessed Matt Talbot (1856-1925) After working as a messenger for some liquor merchants, Matt began to drink excessively. He was an active alcoholic for fifteen years until he was almost 30. Matt was forced to quit work due to failing health in 1923. He died on his way to church on Trinity Sunday.
His Liturgical Feast Day is June 19.
Patron saint of those suffering from alcoholism.
